Acharya Institute of Technology (AIT) is a private co-educational engineering and management college located in Bangalore, India. AIT is an institution affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University and is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation. It offers 11 courses in the undergraduate level and 6 courses at the postgraduate level.
The school of architecture, Acharya's NRV School of Architecture, offers a 5 year undergraduate course in architecture, which is accredited by the Council of Architecture (COA).
It is one of the several institutes run by the JMJ Education Society and features in various rankings lists of top engineering colleges in India published by media agencies and publications like Outlook, CSR-GHRDC, Data Quest NASSCOM and Silicon India, EFY. In recent rankings, AIT was ranked among the top 5 Engineering colleges in Karnataka by the Global Human Resources Development Centre(GHRDC). It features as an A+ institution in the rankings of the publication admission guidance. The college was also conferred with South India's Excellent Institution Award by A-Plus TV Media Works.
The college has various collaborations and tie-ups with various industries and foreign universities.
AIT organises an annual week-long inter-collegiate cultural fest known as the Acharya Habba, which is one of the largest cultural fests in Bangalore and Karnataka.
The postgraduate courses in the institute, especially MBA, makes it one of popular and most sought after colleges in the Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (KMAT).
Acharya Institute of Technology was established in the year 2000 by Shri Premnath Reddy, chairman of Acharya Group of Institutions. The college is managed by the JMJ Education Society, Bangalore.
AIT offers the Bachelor of Engineering course in 11 disciplines, Master of Technology in 4 disciplines namely Digital Communication Engineering and Biotechnology, Computer Science and Engineering, Machine Design, MBA and MCA. All courses are affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University.
It was the first college under the Visvesvaraya Technological University to start an undergraduate course in Mechatronics Engineering in the Indian state of Karnataka.AIT is one of the seven colleges in Karnataka to be funded by the World Bank and is granted endowments by the Visvesvaraya Technological University to carry out research works in both its undergraduate and postgraduate departments.
In 2009, the college constructed a 3 km long road from its campus to the Hessarghatta Main Road. The road was inaugurated by Sree Sree Shivakumara Swamiji of Siddaganga Math in the month of September 2010. The road is named after former President of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and is known as Acharya Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Road.
