The selvam educational and charitable trust and rajas educational and charitable trust, vadakangulam were established in the year 1984 under the chairmanship of Dr.S.A.Raja, a popular philanthropist and educationist hailing from vadakkangulam.These trusts have started a group of professional colleges and all the institutions are approved by the AICTE.Jayamatha Engineering College (JEC) is established in 1995 and the college is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE-Approval No:F.730-52-275/RC/94, dated: 23rd August 1995) and is affiliated to the Anna University, Chennai (No: CEP/AFFI/JEC/2001-02, dated: 14.08.2002). The trust shall continue to strive in building institutions of academic brilliance.

In this regard, I always appreciate the golden words of the greatest visionary poet, Robert Frost, thus he said: " Miles to go before I sleep". I started off counting the mile stone in the year 1984 when I realized the necessity for providing appropriate ample and adequate quality education to, the rural younger generation. In the subsequent years, The Rajaas Engineering College, Rajaas Dental College, S.A.Raja Pharmacy College, Institute of Management Studies, Jayamatha Engineering College, Sardar Raja College of Engineering, Joe Suresh Engineering College, Sardar Raja Arts & Science College, Sardar Raja Community College, Rajaas Industrial Training Center emerged one by one to serve the rural community further in the direction of great destiny.
