GOA Common Entrance Test 2015 for Professional Courses

GOA CET Professional Degree Courses 2015-2016

Admissions to Professional Courses MBBS / BDS / BHMS / B.E. / B.Pharm in the State of Goa for the academic year 2015-16 shall be carried out on basis of GCET (Goa Common Entrance Test), which shall be conducted in various Centres, across Goa State, as per following schedule
GCET (Goa Common Entrance Test) 2015 will be held on 05th & 6th of May as follows that leads for admissions to MBBS, BDS, BHMS, B.E. and B.Pharm in the State of Goa:
Physics05th May 2015 (Tuesday, 10.00 to 12.00 hrs)
Chemistry: 05th May 2015 (Thursday, 14.00 to 16.00 hrs)
Mathematics: 06th May 2015 (Wednesday, 10.00 to 12.00 hrs)
Biology: 06th May 2015 (Wednesday, 14.00 to 16.00 hrs)
GCET-2015 shall be conducted in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Biology, based on Std. XIIth syllabus prescribed in these subjects by Goa Board, for March-2015 exam
Each paper shall consist of 75 (Seventy Five) questions, ofone mark each, to be answered in two hours, with no negative marking
Admissions to B.Arch course shall be on the basis of scores obtained at NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture), conducted by Council of Architecture, and qualifying exam (Std. XIIth /HSSC)

GOA Common Entrance Test 2015 Eligibility for Professional Degree Courses

For admission to Professional Degree courses included in this prospectus, an applicant must fulfill the following criteria:

Nationality

Admission to professional courses in State of Goa is open to Indian nationals fulfilling the eligibility criteria under various categories. Non-resident Indians holding Indian passport may also apply for seats reserved under NRI category. Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) /Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders are considered eligible for admissions to seats under NRI Category. Foreign Nationals and Persons of Indian Origin holding non-Indian passport must apply to Govt. of India.

Age Limit

An applicant to Degree courses in Medicine, Dentistry and Homoeopathy must have competed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the academic year of admission to become eligible for admission to First Year. No age limit, minimum or maximum, is specified for admission to Engineering, Pharmacy and Architecture.

Valid Score at GCET 2015

An applicant for Degree courses in Medicine, Dentistry, Engineering, Pharmacy and Homoeopathy must have appeared and obtained valid score at the Goa Common Entrance Test GCET conducted by Government of Goa for the year of admission. GCET score of the previous year/s shall not be valid. For Medicine and Dentistry Degree courses, minimum GCET score must be 50 percent (40 percent in case of SC/ST/OBC and 45 percent for applicants belonging to PH category.) aggregate in specified subjects. No minimum limit is specified for other courses. An applicant for Degree Course in Architecture must have appeared and obtained valid score at NATA conducted by Council of Architecture.

Qualifying Examination & Minimum Marks:

An applicant must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination of the Goa Board or an examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, or any other examination, which in scope and standard, is deemed to be equivalent to the H.S.S.C. examination of Goa Board, and must have obtained the minimum percentage of marks in the specific subjects, as prescribed for the admission to respective professional courses, as under.

First Year MBBS, BDS and BHMS

Applicant must have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (Std. XII) examination of Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with English and secured not less than 50 percent marks in the aggregate of subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology taken together. (40 percent for the applicants belonging to SC, ST and OBC only and 45 percent for applicants belonging to PH category for MBBS and BDS Course).

First Year B.E.

The applicant must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std.XIIth) examination of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with English, Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with one of the following subjects Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Computer Science / Biology and secured not less than 45 percent marks in the aggregate of subjects of Physics & Mathematics with one of the following subjects Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Computer Science / Biology. (40 percent for the applicants belonging to SC, ST and OBC only).

First Year B. Pharm.

The applicant must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std.XIIth) examination of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with English, Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects with one of the following subjects Mathematics/Bio-Technology / Computer Science /Biology and secured not less than 45 percent marks in the aggregate of subjects of Physics & Chemistry with one of the following subjects Mathematics / Bio-Technology / Computer Science / Biology. (40 percent for the applicants belonging to SC, ST and OBC only). As per Pharmacy Council of India Regulations, candidates passing Senior Secondary School examination conducted by National Open School, New Delhi are not approved/eligible for admissions to B. Pharm.

First Year B.Arch.:

The applicant must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std.XIIth) examination of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects and secured at least 50 percent marks in aggregate (45 percent aggregate marks for applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC). OR 10+3 Diploma (any stream) recognised by Central/State Governments with 50 percent aggregate marks. OR
International Baccalaureate Diploma, after 10 years of schooling, with not less than 50 percent marks in aggregate and with Mathematics as compulsory subject of examination.
Applicants scoring minimum 80/200 at NATA will be eligible for admission to B.Arch., provided NATA score is obtained by answering NATA exam before last date of submission of admission form.

Kashmiri Migrants Only in Engineering Courses:

The applicant must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std.XIIth) examination or its equivalent examination with English, Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with one of the following subjects Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Computer Science / Biology and secured not less than 45 percent marks in the subjects of Physics & Mathematics with one of the following subjects Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology

Admission of Eligible Diploma/B.Sc. Degree holders to First Year of Engineering / Pharmacy Degree Courses:

Applicants who have passed Diploma in Engineering / B.Sc. Degree with Mathematics as a subject at Std XII, with at least 45 percent marks (40 percent marks in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC), shall be eligible for admission to First Year of Engineering Degree Courses, subject to vacancies in First Year, after vacancies at Lateral Entry into Direct Second Year are exhausted.
The merit list of such applicants shall be prepared on the basis of aggregate marks scored at qualifying exam. Diploma holders in Pharmacy would be eligible for admissions only to First Year of Pharmacy Degree Course under this provision. Vacant seats under this provision shall first be offered to eligible Diploma holders and then to B.Sc. Degree holders.
